The cash-in-transit vehicle that was blasted open on the Karino road earlier this afternoon.

Suspects in two BMWs and three Range Rovers chased and blasted open a G4S Security cash-in-transit vehicle earlier this afternoon.

According to Brig Selvy Mohlala of Mpumalanga SAPS, the vehicle was travelling on the Karino road towards the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport when suspects in the five vehicles fired shots at it.

The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and it overturned. The suspects then blasted open the back doors of the vehicle and fled with a few bags of cash. There were about fifteen suspects, according to the witnesses.

None of the victims sustained any injuries.
