Beloved Uplands head signs off with a song

Austin Clarke, outgoing head of Uplands Preparatory School and College, was recently honoured at a founders evening and farewell function.

He was appointed as headmaster of Uplands College in 2004. He had previously been headmaster of U-Tech College in Swaziland and business manager at Sisekelo High School and Management College.
Besides running this school, Clarke also has a great interest in computer technology. The legacy her leaves at Uplands will be an integrated school-administration system which he developed himself.
Married to Elsa, the couple has four children, Robert, Jennifer, Monica and Emily who all matriculated from Uplands College.
At the function a great many paid tribute and bid him a farewell on his plans for the future. Here head boy and girl of the school presented him with a trophy to convey their and the school’s gratitude. He was touched by this gesture and in his speech thanked the students and personnel for the wonderful years he spent with them and that he was proud to be a part of such a school.
