New principal to start at college soon

Gary Sim, previously head of Tyger Valley College east of Pretoria, has been appointed as new executive head of Uplands Prepatory School and College.
Sim started his career as a teacher and has been in managerial positions for over eight years, first as a deputy and later as head. He was then appointed as the founding headmaster of Tyger Valley College in 2006, where he has successfully been for 10 years. Now, he will join Uplands in September.
Sim brings to Uplands a passion for academic excellence and a desire to give every child in his care, the maximum opportunity to develop and thrive in a loving and caring environment. His extensive teaching and managerial experience in both prep and college will be of huge value to Uplands staff across all phases of education.
Sim is a keen hockey player and cyclist having just completed the gruelling nine-day JoBerg2C mountain bike race in a very competitive time.
The community of White River and the Uplands School look forward to his commencement and all that his wealth of experience will contribute to the special and much-loved school that Uplands is.
