In pictures: President Cyril Ramaphosa on his morning walk through White River

President Cyril Ramaphosa took to the streets of White River early this morning.

He was accompanied by Mpumalanga premier Ms Refilwe Mtshweni, Mbombela mayor Sibusiso Mathonsi and several other ANC officials and joined by hundreds of residents of, and visitors to White River.

The walk started at the local library, followed Chief Mgiyeni Khumalo Drive eastwards, turned first south and then north into William Lynn Street and then followed Tom Lawrence and Danie Joubert Streets until they returned to the municipal complex via the main street again.

At the municipal building Ramaphosa addressed the crowd.

He said that despite many challenges the country face, nobody should lose hope. “Working together is the most important solution and best way to overcome all challenges,” he said.

He urged the younger generation to study and work hard to reach their goals, referring to the availability of a university in the region.

“We must strengthen all our structures and work towards stability in all the provinces again,” he said before complimenting Mpumalanga and Mbombela for the stability local residents experience.
